Drawing on over a century of expertise in making judo uniforms, Kusakura has transformed its knowledge of sashiko fabric, cutting, and sewing into a pair of pants designed for everyday wear.

Made from 100% cotton sashiko fabric, these pants combine a soft feel with excellent moisture absorption for lasting comfort. As a natural material, the fabric gradually softens and conforms to the movement of your body the more you wear it, developing a character that is uniquely your own.

Freedom of movement was at the heart of the design. Whether you squat, stand, walk, jump, or move your legs freely, the pants are constructed using the specialized crotch-cutting and sewing techniques Kusakura has developed through years of making judogi pants.

The knees feature a double-knee construction with layered sashiko fabric for enhanced resistance to movement and friction. This added durability makes them suitable for everyday wear as well as workwear, outdoor activities, and other demanding situations.

Inspired by authentic judogi pants, the waist can be adjusted with a drawstring. An elastic waistband has also been added for easy on and off, providing a comfortable fit without the need for a belt.

Belt loops provide additional styling freedom, allowing the pants to transition naturally from workwear and outdoor looks to street style.

A triangular reinforcement is sewn into the inside of the hem to reduce stress caused by movement and friction, adding durability even in details that are rarely seen.

From weaving the fabric to cutting, sewing, and finishing, Kusakura's integrated in-house manufacturing makes these Sashiko Double Knee Pants a unique expression of Japanese martial arts craftsmanship beyond the dojo.

Care Instructions

・Dyed fabric may fade or transfer color through friction or when wet.
・Please wash separately from white or light-colored garments.
・Do not tumble dry.
・Machine washable.
