Our Collaboration Track Record with Kusakura Sashiko.

There are aspects of Kusakura Sashiko's appeal that we alone cannot fully convey. We actively pursue collaborations that help share what makes Kusakura Sashiko special — its strength and suppleness, its durability for long-term use. Here we introduce a selection of our collaboration projects.

Iwasaki × Kusakura Sashiko

A sturdy and warm MA-1 blouson. A masterpiece tailored with world-class sewing techniques. Available in two classic MA-1 colors: khaki and natural.

Kusakura Sashiko wanted to convey its unique qualities — "strength and suppleness" and "the appeal of a texture that changes with use." That journey led to the MA-1 blouson. Originally developed as a flight jacket for the U.S. Air Force, the MA-1 is the perfect canvas for Kusakura Sashiko's durability and functionality to shine. A long-seller that has remained virtually unchanged for decades, it had to be something worthy of years of continued wear — and that pursuit led to Iwasaki, a maker of the highest sewing craftsmanship. Though their name rarely appears in the spotlight, Iwasaki has handled the sewing for numerous global and renowned brands with precision and finesse. Normally difficult to commission, this collaboration was made possible through a shared passion for Kusakura Sashiko's vision — a dream partnership in every sense. Reversible design, superior insulation, thoughtful pockets, and an obsessive attention to detail. Kusakura Sashiko aims for the world — and delivers world-class quality.

Abe Sangyo × Omae × Kusakura Sashiko

A three-way collaboration featuring machine-washable babouches and persimmon tannin dyeing with outstanding antibacterial properties. Available in 2 styles including slippers, and 2 colors.

The goal was to make Kusakura Sashiko a natural part of everyday life — and that vision gave rise to these babouches and slippers. Abe Sangyo is the manufacturer behind "Kahoku Slippers," a regional brand from Kahoku Town in Yamagata Prefecture, boasting a long history and one of Japan's finest reputations in indoor footwear such as slippers and babouches. For the persimmon tannin dyeing, we partnered with Omae, a long-established specialist from Shiga Prefecture with an impressive track record. Brought to life by these skilled and storied makers, Kusakura Sashiko has been transformed into slippers and babouches that are both functional and beautifully designed. The sewing quality is exceptional, the babouches are machine washable, and the Kusakura Sashiko fabric is strong and durable for long-lasting comfort. Persimmon tannin offers natural deodorizing and antibacterial properties, keeping your feet fresh and clean at all times. A product that could never have existed under Kusakura alone — born through the power of collaboration.
